Regarding the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic,India with an intention to maintain the relation of Cooperation & Friendship with Nepal, offered 23 tonnes of essential medicine to them,for fighting against COVID-19.
But within few days these friendly relations became bit twisted on the border issues.


1. Political Background

  • On 31st October 2019,the state of J&K was reorganised into 2 Union Territories-J&K and Ladakh.
  • With this reorganization,on 2/11/19 new Political map of India was developed,claiming the precontrolled territory of Kalapani.
On 6/11/19 Nepal stated that:.       
 -The Political map of India is wrong.
   -Kalapani is a disputed territory
   -The issue should be solved by the bilateral 
     talks.

2. Politics of Nepal

  • Nepal was under monarchy untill 2008,Gyanendra was the last king of Nepal.
  • Later Nepal was converted to a Democratic & Republic nation.
  • With it,some anti Indian,subjects got support of China,to supress Indian control over Kalapani.

Yesterday (20/5/20),Nepal took an aggresive step and claimed Kalapani as there territoy.
Today the relationship between India and Nepal is very tensed,India is ready for bilateral talk with Nepal

We all hope that the issue will get settled soon,we cannot afford making more enemies in our neighborhood after all.
