The Indo-China war resulted into the defeat of Indian side,it wasn't just a defeat for our army, but it was a defeat of our foreign policies.
Nehru....who was recognised as a great statesman and a diplomat was deeply hurted by this outcome, his glorious identity on an international level was shattered into pieces.

1. The Superheros

  • It wasn't a war for Indian army in any sense, due to misjudged policies, government didn't gave any attention towards welfare of the troops.
  • Indian troops didn't had any war strategy or equipment, all they had was courage but war doesn't require only courage.
  • Indian troops had the 303 guns while Chinese army had highly equipped AK47 guns.
  • Indian troops also lacked in Sunglasses,Gumboots, Ammunition,Warm-Cloths which are essential for the war at higher altitudes.
  • A report says, that of all the casualties India faced.... half of them were due to shivering cold.

                    AK-47.                      303 RIFEL

2. Casualties

  • Strength :  Indian troops   -12,000.
  •                      Chinese troops-80,000
  •  Killed Indian Soldiers 1,383
     Missing Indian Soldiers 1,696
     Wounded Indian soldiers 1,047
     Prisoners of war 3,968

The Hindersen-Brook-Bhagat Report is the report regarding the mistakes done by the Indian side regarding the war, which is still kept classified (unpublished) till the date

3. Dishearted Nehru
  • Due to India's inability to anticipate Chinese aggression,Nehru faced harsh criticism in following years.
  • President Radhakrishnan said, Nehru's government was naive & negligent about army preperation. Nehru also admitted his failing.

  • 2 months after the war,on 26th January 1963, a program was held at National Stadium-New Delhi in the presence of late President Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan & Jawaharlal Nehru remembering the martyr of the war.
  • The Melody Queen of India -Lata Mangeshkar sung that immortal song -"Ae mere watan ke logo". PM.Nehru was left in tears after listening it.
Must watch video🙏

Speaking positively the war brought us a glorious  defeat. But on the contrary it was the most worst situation our nation had ever faced.
